Cablevision Channel Changes
May 23, 2008
by Ann Marie Fallon
Most residents should have received a letter from Cablevision, the only cable provider currently operating in New Castle.
In the letter, the company stated that as of May 27, 2008, any customer who does not have a box or is still utilizing an analog cable box instead of the newer digital box will lose 10 channels from their cable service. The channels affected are TLC, A&E, E!, CSPAN2, QVC , Sci-Fi Channel, tru-TV, Animal Planet, Travel Channel and the Golf Channel. According to Cablevision, these channels will remain in your plan, but will not be viewable without the digital cable box even if you have a digital television.
Cablevision is offering its customers a free digital box for a year as well as an upgrade to its iO package during that year at no extra cost. The customer’s bill will be adjusted to the current rate for the iO package in the 13th month. The iO Package includes up to 220 channels as well as movies and shows on demand, up to 40 free high definition services and 48 music channels.
The change will occur on May 27, 2008, but the offer of the free digital cable box and upgraded service doesn’t expire until August 10, 2008. For more information contact Cablevision at (914) 378-8960.
