Chappaqua’s AYSO travel teams, AYSO Extra, participate in Ossining tournament

Last Saturday was a glorious day for soccer, and five teams from Chappaqua AYSO’s travel program, AYSO Extra, made the most out of the day by participating in the Wiz of Oss tournament in Ossining. The traditional season-closing tournament was not quite as large as it has been in recent years, perhaps because coaches and parents remembered freezing all day in a cold rain in last fall’s Wiz of Oss.

The spring soccerfest couldn’t have been more different. While none of the Chappaqua teams placed in the final standings, if points could be scored for having a good time, everyone was a winner. Participating were the U9GirlsX Quake, coached by Peter Gaudet, The U9BoysX Hurricanes, coached by Gordon Kessler, the U9BoysX Rovers, coached by Marc Flamino, the U9BoysX Blades, coached by David Schreiber and the U12Girls Starburst, coached by Mark Ellis.
