Come Walk the Red Carpet to Celebrate Local Producers’ Talents and NCCTV’s 10th Birthday

March 21, 2008
New Castle Community Television will hold its Short Video/Film Festival 2008 Awards Night – which will be part Hollywood celebration and part NCCTV birthday party—at 7 p.m. Saturday, March 29th, at the Chappaqua Library, 195 S. Greeley Ave.

NCCTV’s Awards Night will mimic the Academy Awards with bright lights, red carpet interviews of our local film producers, clips shown of all festival entries, and much suspense as the winners are announced and called to the stage to receive an NCee, our town’s Oscar. In addition, this year’s ceremony will commemorate NCCTV’s accomplishments over the past decade. A montage of historical clips from many NCCTV shows will kick off the awards ceremony.

“The awards night was a big success last year,” said Festival Chair Nancy Weiss. “Some 200 people came it was a lot of fun. We are hoping this year’s will be even more fun because we’re also wishing NCCTV – which is growing bigger and better each year—a very happy 10th Birthday.”

Another important addition to this year’s awards night is the announcement of the winners of a special new entry category: Anti Drug/Alcohol Public Service Announcements, sponsored by The Chappaqua Volunteer Ambulance Corps (CVAC) and New Castle CARES, a community organization.

The new category was open to middle school and high school students in New Castle who wanted to produce a PSA on film/ tape or design a poster to raise awareness of the issues students face in confronting drug and alcohol use.

Cash prizes underwritten by Northern Westchester Hospital will go to the winners and each student who entered a video or poster will be awarded a Certificate of Community Service.
