The lazy, hazy (at last, it stopped raining) days of summer are finally upon us. The first concert in the gazebo is scheduled for this Wednesday, July 8 at 7:00 p.m. Bring your lawn chairs, bring your picnics and bring your kids to the New Castle Recreation Field at 200 South Greeley Avenue to hear the music of some of America’s greatest composers, from John Phillip Sousa to John Williams.
The Chappaqua Orchestra, under the direction of Michael Shapiro, invites you to sit back and relax and enjoy this free outdoor concert. In case of rain (oh, no!) the concert will be moved to the New Castle Community Center on Senter Street. Call 921-4642 for up-to-date information about location.
The Parks and Recreation Department reminds concert-goers that glass containers are prohibited at the concert, as well as pets, and that they would appreciate it if concert-goers would refrain from riding bikes on the fields during the concerts.
