Letter to the Editor: Chappaqua kids learn love of the game from Pete Zimmerman

Dear Editor,

Our son Daniel played youth football in town starting in fourth grade. In June 2009, he graduated from Union College. Daniel played four years of football at Union (Division 3) and loved it. There is no doubt in our minds that his introduction to the sport by Pete Zimmerman gave him a love of the game. 

Pete was caring, instructive and always had the interest of the children at heart. Pete’s insensitive dismissal is a huge loss for our community. It saddens us to know that the next generation of youth will not reap the same benefits that our sons did.
