Fresh off a gig at Pawling’s famed Towne Crier Café on August 14, Chappaqua resident Bill Bachmann will be performing two sets on Saturday, Sept. 11, one at 10:30 a.m. and one at 11:30 a.m. at the Chappaqua train station to celebrate the grand opening of the new Chappaqua TABLE Farm Market. The market will be open from 10:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Singer, songwriter, and guitarist, Bachmann has earned the title of a “musician’s musician” from his collaboration with some of the best instrumentalists and songwriters in New York City. Seamlessly moving between folk, bluegrass, ragtime, swing, jazz, blues, and rock, he plays it all.
He is thrilled to be a part of Chappaqua’s new Farmers’ Market: “The decline of rural America and the family farm is a situation that I hope can be reversed. It’s my understanding that only 6% of all farmers are under the age of 35, and that there are five million fewer farms today than there were in the 1930s. Local farmers are a national treasure and they need our support. It doesn’t get any better than those Hudson Valley summer tomatoes, that sweet August corn and those Honeycrisp apples in the fall.”
Come support this community effort by shopping locally for local produce, and enjoy some special entertainment at the same time.
