New Castle’s town-wide clean up, “Neat to the Street,” takes place next Saturday, April 24. Winter really clobbered New Castle this year and volunteers of all ages are needed all over town more than ever, anytime between 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. Leave the town dotted with neatly tied salmon-colored bags of litter! Where to get bags and gloves? Click “Read more.”
The Beautification Advisory Board will have two stations that will begin passing out salmon-colored bags and teal green gloves (and a limited number of pokers for adults-only) on Monday, April 19:
• Town Hall’s ground floor (facing the library)
• The Millwood Hardware store next to Rocky’s.
On Saturday, 24 April, there will be a third source of supplies:
• A table on South Greeley near St. Mary the Virgin, where the Chappaqua Rotary will be turning out pancakes from 8:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. in the church hall
Put on the gloves, fill up the bag, tie it up and leave it on the side of the road. Trucks will pick up the bags on Monday, April 26.
The Beautification Advisory Board is always eager to hear of odd-ball discoveries during the clean up—report back to headquarters with oddities.
