A look around at cool new shops in downtown Chappaqua

Clinton in Town

Have you noticed an uptick in retail activity in downtown Chappaqua recently?  When NCMC “New Castle Business Update” reporter Simone Gell dropped in to some of the newer shops to have a look, she met up with President Bill Clinton, who spoke with her about the critical role that small businesses play in the economy. Watch the 5-minute program in its entirety, below.

A great video of our local business community and very professionally done. Simone Gell, et al have done a fabulous job of capturing the essence of downtown Chappaqua.  I plan on doing all my holiday shopping right here in town now that there’s such a diverse selection.  It’s wonderful to see new and interesting shops opening.  Don’t forget about Marmalade, too!  And we have a new restaurant opening soon in the spot next to the Community Center so you can rest up after all that shopping.

We were excited about the coverage by New Castle Media Center and NewCastleNOW and I was thrilled, of course, to have President Clinton speaking in my store.  I have to issue a plea, however, for those of you already aware of the new stores in town and planning to shop local to please spread the word about us and to also remember that we need support year-round.  I won’t enumerate the costs of running a brick-and-mortar store, but they are substantial.  This was a risk I undertook with eyes open, of course, but nevertheless need community support to keep thriving (and hiring!).  If you have time to stop in, I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised at the variety and prices offered by the new stores.  A customer this morning mentioned that “she had never dreamed of doing her holiday shopping in town” until she saw our new assortment on lower King.  Thanks for your continued support.

Great video.  I am very appreciative of our local shops—both new and old—and I have been and will continue to shop in our town.
