This Saturday at St. Mary’s next to Bell, from 9am to 1pm:
My Sugarland: Chappaqua, NY
Chappaqua resident, Alexis Schwartzreich, started baking professionally while living as an expat in London. Frustrated that she couldn’t find any cakes that weren’t ganache-style, she took to her oven and started baking at home. Pretty soon she was making birthday cakes and cupcakes with buttercream for other expats missing traditional American desserts.
For this Saturday, she will bring her dense chocolate Guinness cake with maple frosting - a wonderful melding of both cultures - and an array of delicious cupcakes including her very original (and colorful) “tie-dye “cupcakes - sure to cheer up any kid who is sad to see February break end!
Merriweather’s Soaps: Rhinebeck, NY
Soaps, creams, and other skin care products made from natural vegetable oils, herbs and essential oils…and affordably priced! They offer many of their blends in soaps, salts, oils, creams, and colognes so you can have all your scents the same or customize your scent by layering one flavor over another (i.e. jasmine cologne over patchouli).
