Today is the last day for drop-off of blankets of all kinds, to be sent to Haitian victims of cholera. Please drop them in the boxes outside Greeley’s Guidance Office.
The Blanket Drive, organized by S.H.A.R.E. (Students Have A Responsibility Everywhere) is on behalf of the AFYA Foundation. The AFYA Foundation (“Afya” means “good health” in Swahili) collects and delivers medical and humanitarian supplies to developing countries.
Because there has been an outbreak of cholera in Haiti, the head of the foundation told us that it is imperative to collect blankets because when one has cholera, his or her body temperature drops dramatically. We are collecting blankets until Friday, December 17, right outside of the Guidance Office at Horace Greeley High School. Wool, cotton, fleece, any kind of blanket would be appreciated. Thank you so much for your help!
