The Town of New Castle has a long History and practice of filling the seats of the Planning Board with individuals that are not familiar with the location of The Country Deli, Rocky’s Deli, or even Millwood Lumber (Very True). Even if the West End is unofficially not allowed to occupy a seat on the Planning Board, the Town of New Castle should at a minimum appoint individuals that know how to drive around the West End. The Town of Millwood desperately needs to have two members seated on the Planning Board that are not out for sporting purposes; as in the past. The Town of Millwood needs to have individuals appointed to the Planning Board that can be instrumental in solving problems, changing course, and allowing for good well-thought-out change to quickly take hold. The Town of New Castle has a terrible History in its role of not identifying the restraints and constraints of the Millwood Hamlet, and then moving to remove such obstacles. The New Castle Taxpayer has paid hundreds of thousands of dollars out to independent consultants, and for independent studies, and has not followed, or moved to stay the course found within the results of such studies or paid-for advice. Great mistakes are presently being made within the Millwood Hamlet, and no one in the position of power or influence has the common sense to question anything when it comes to the Millwood Hamlet. Whoever came up with the idea of seeing that a representative or two be seated on the Planning Board that would hold and have the best interest of the Millwood Hamlet, has been noticing an awful lot; it may be too late!

The Town of Millwood can become a much better place ?  True or False

The road to improving and upgrading the Hamlet of Millwood starts with Yonkers ?  TRUE or FALSE

I understand the importance of Yonkers ?  True or False

If you are an individual that does not understand the importance of Yonkers, then most likely only a fresh coat of paint on the Rail Road Station is all that is needed to make you happy !

By Yonkers ? WHAT ! on 08/30/2010 at 2:56 pm

What you mean is that Yonkers’ treatment plant has to give the go-ahead for a Saw Mill sewer district and that will enable Millwood to develop?  I think the town board has a request in, but who knows how county legislators will respond?

By You mean sewers, I guess. on 08/31/2010 at 8:02 am

Response to: You mean sewers, I guess.

If we need to count on, hold on, have hope, pray for hope, wait for help, or simply get things done, and this involves Mr. Michael Kapolowitz. He has already raised the WHITE FLAG on the issue of bringing sewers into the Millwood Hamlet. In fact and to quote him, he said that he needs The New Castle Town Board to place a tool in his TOOL BOX, so that he can once again try to get the area sewered.

Well what tool does he need us to place in his tool box?

Does he need a plumbers wrench and backhoe?  TRUE or FALSE

Does he need The New Castle Town Board to launch a lawsuit against YONKERS and personally name all the individuals that stand in New Castle’s way? TRUE or FALSE

Mike is a nice guy, what has he accomplished for us lately on a GRAND SCALE that protects the future Tax Base of the West End and the Hamlet of Millwood?

The future vision of Millwood is to relocate Our Lady of Wayside to a spot on Chappaqua Road, and to redevelop from the current location of the Millwood Church up to the Park alongside Rt.100. The next point of development is to place a second floor on the existing A & P. Continue commercial or mix development along Rt.100 past the Italian Restaurant heading North. Change the intersection of Shingle House Road and Rt.100 to create a buildable commercial lot, and then move to straighten out Downtown Millwood. This will save 2200 sqft homes in the area from paying $45,000 in property Taxes by 2025. Where is the shovel, I’m ready!

By Can he ? on 08/31/2010 at 12:01 pm

I do not understand the obstacles that are in place in the Millwood Hamlet. Who at Town Hall can explain the existing difficulties that are affecting the development of the West End? Why is the West End at the mercy of the City of Yonkers?
