Tomorrow, Saturday, April 23, 2011, Kids Kick Cancer, in conjunction with Chappaqua AYSO, and the support of New Castle Parks and Recreation and the Athletic Department of the Chappaqua Central School District, will hold an outdoor soccer tournament for 2nd, 3rd and 4th grade boys and girls (U8 and U10) at Horace Greeley High School.
Participants sign up for the tournament individually (not as teams) and will be assigned to teams randomly. U8 boys and U10 girls will play in the morning and U8 girls and U10 boys will play in the afternoon. The entry fee is a minimum of $20 per player and all proceeds will be donated to the Jimmy Fund for the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, a children’s cancer treatment hospital and research center. Players can still register up until the day of the tournament. Please fill out the form that can be found on the Chappaqua AYSO website, at http://www.chappaquaayso.org/Forms.htm and bring it with you on the day of the tournament. Additionally, please send an email to .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) to let us know that you will be playing.
Kids Kick Cancer was formed by Seven Bridges 6th graders Brett Mozarsky and Billy Perlmutter, when they were in 3rd grade. Over the past 3 years, Kids Kick Cancer has raised several thousand dollars from fund raising events, including most recently at an exciting soccer shootout booth at the Westorchard Spring Fair. All of this money has been donated to the Jimmy Fund.
Brett and Billy hope that lots of kids will sign up for the tournament for a day that promises to be great fun. If you cannot play on April 23rd, but would like to support our effort to kick cancer and help the doctors and kids at Dana Farber who fight cancer every day, please send a check made payable to The Jimmy Fund to:
