New Castle is inviting all runners and walkers to join in their 21st Annual 10K Road Race. The May 18 event, which will be held rain or shine, benefits North East Special Recreation, a non-profit corporation that provides recreational services for children and adults with developmental disabilities.

The race will begin at New Castle Town Hall, located at 200 South Greeley Avenue, at 9:00 a.m. sharp. A free Family Fun Run will begin at approximately 9:05 am, when the last 10K runner has left the starting line. After the runs are completed at town hall, refreshments will be served and an award ceremony held.

There is a $15 pre-registration fee, and checks should be made payable to North East Special Recreation.  Advanced registration, which is due by Thursday, May 15, may be either mailed or dropped off at the New Castle Recreation Department at town hall.  Registration after May 15 and on the day of the event will require a $20 registration fee.
