NEW: Petition on Facebook to “Keep Pete”—Rec Commission meets May 6

May 3, 2010
by Jamie Nottingham

As many of you know the Recreation department has recently asked Mr. Pete Zimmerman to step down from his position running the youth football program. Pete has done a ton for Chappaqua and its sports over the last 25 years by volunteering an unfathomable amount of his time. People wishing to do something about this have a few options.

There is a Keep Pete Facebook page with an e-petition attached to it in the discussion section.  Along with the e-petition there is a hard copy of the petition going around town.  Thirdly and most importantly there is a Rec Commission meeting this coming Thursday, May 6th at Town Hall at 7:00 p.m .  Anyone who wishes to speak on behalf of Pete should come to show their support to Keep Pete and to say what they feel.

Jamie Nottingham is a student at Horace Greeley High School and a former Rec Football player.
