Norberto Goldberg to perform at Pleasantville Music Festival on July 10

July 2, 2010

Chappaqua resident Norbert (aka Norberto) Goldberg will be one of the featured local artists performing in the upcoming Pleasantville Music Festival on July 10.  The festival includes many top-name groups such as Jakob Dylan (Bob’s son), The Bacon Brothers, and Rusted Root as well as many other Westchester-based bands playing a wide range of music on three different stages.

Norberto’s group will kick-off the festivities at the Beer and Wine Garden starting at 12:45 p.m.  The group, composed of world-class musicians, plays an exciting blend of Latin and Brazilian jazz with some original compositions by Norberto.  For a detailed schedule consult the website pleasantvillemusicfestival.com.

Born in Argentina, drummer/percussionist Norberto has accompanied jazz artists including Cleo Laine, Dewey Redman, Slide Hampton and composers Lalo Shifrin and Michel Legrand. Recording credits include Gerry Mulligan, Grover Washington Jr., various Latin artists as well as jingles and film scores.  He has performed with Broadway legends such as Chita Rivera, and Tommy Tune and has played in numerous Broadway shows including “A Chorus Line,” “Grease” and “Once On This Island.”  Aside from his performance schedule, Norberto’s unique educational programs have brought music and percussion to thousands of children in the Westchester area and beyond.  For more information or to contact Norberto, visit norbertgoldberg.com.
