What do practice tests for the SAT, state police exam, AP exams, algebra classes, elementary and middle school assessments and the Rosetta Stone language programs all have in common?

They are all available on-line through the Chappaqua Public Library website. Just click on the online resources choice option.

The Westchester Library System acquired Learning Express only a month ago. Every year library directors in Westchester meet to have their yearly chat about data bases. According to Pamela Thornton, the director of the Chappaqua Library, they run the sites through their paces and pass them to their reference librarians to help the directors decide which are worthy and which are overpriced. After a thorough examination, they decided on Learning Express, a comprehensive online learning platform of exams, assessments and tutorials in a wide range of topics.
To access the information contained in this “Online Resources” section of the Chappaqua Library’s new site, you simply need to create a user name and password after choosing Learning Express. Once you are into Learning Express, you will be offered thirty tests and tutorials from which to choose. For elementary and middle school students, diagnostic tests and practice exercises in math and reading are available. High school students can find practice tests for the ACT, APs and the SAT as well as middle and high school “skills improvement” exercises. Graduate school exams are also available.

For those beyond high school there are a variety of graduate school entrance exams, practice exams for civil service, cosmetology, and the health service industry as well as a number of real estate exams.  There are offerings on business writing skills, job search and enhancing networking in the work place.
