The Horace Greeley High School Boys Varsity Basketball team will emphasis fundamentals and mechanics of the game at their free “Sharpen the Skills” clinic they are running tomorrow, Saturday, November 21, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the high school gym. All boys and girls in grades 5-8 with an interest in basketball are welcome. Head coach Dave Fernandes will also be on hand to offer advice. He promised that every student attending will get individual attention from either himself, one of the varsity players or one of the assistant coaches, Gary Abrams, Joe Kerns and Liz Lops.

“When I met with my captains this year,” Coach Fernandes said, “we decided: “let’s try our hardest to bring the community back to our games. We thought a good place to start was with the younger basketball players.”

The clinic is also a gentle fund-raiser. An orange Greeley basketball t-shirt, modeled by Coach Fernandes in the photo above, will be on sale for $5.00. He would like to encourage these young players to wear the shirt to the Greeley Varsity games to show their support for the team. See roster, below.
