The New York Blood Center has issued an emergency appeal for blood donations. Supplies have dropped below the five-day safety level; some types are at less than a two-day level. During holidays, blood donation plummets. You must be at least 16 years old, with parental consent, weigh a minimum of 110 pounds, and be in good health.
Several high school students have already signed to give blood this Sunday in St. John and St. Mary’s drive in its Parish Center, from 8:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in its Parish Center, at 30 Poillon Drive, near Lange’s Little Store. Walk-ins are welcome, but signing up in advance is more time-efficient for donors. Call 602-3410 or sign up on the sheet in the church lobby.
