(U14 GIRLS) Chappaqua Stars 5 - Rye Brook Blaze 2

The Stars dominated completely and had about 20 - 25 shots on goal, whereas Rye Brook had 3 shots on goal from breakaways. It was an excellent performance by the Stars.

(U13 BOYS) Chappaqua Monarchs 3 - Scarsdale Thundercats 0

The Chappaqua Monarchs traveled to their new home field at SUNY Purchase. Upon arrival, players and parents discovered that field F means “far away from parking lot.” Despite the 20 minute drive and 15 minute hike to the home field, the players finally got down to business. With a full squad of 17 players present, the team was able to maintain pressure against Scarsdale through strategically planned substitutions which kept players fresh throughout the entire game. The Monarchs continue to maintain an improved level of play this spring by being physical, crisp passing, good player communication, and as always - heart. The play of the game, for the second week in a row, was a strong centering pass from a wing for a header into the goal. This week the pass came from Jake Weiss and the header was by Owen Gatto who managed to get his head to the ball just before the goalie could get his hands on it. It was truly a spectacular play at any level. The Monarchs take their 3-0 record to Rye Book next week to play their rival Blue Thunder.

(U13 GIRLS) Scarsdale Rockstars 2 - Chappaqua Jaguars 1

The Jaguars lost an exciting game today at the turf field at Scarsdale High School. After a scoreless first half, they fell behind 1-0 on a goal off a direct kick which sailed just underneath the crossbar. Fighting back, the Jaguars tied the game at 1-1 on a crisp breakaway goal by Olivia Kerester. Unfortunately, Scarsdale answered some ten minutes later with another shot just underneath the crossbar and over the outstretched hands of the goalie. Despite the loss, the Jaguars fought hard and had a number of great scoring chances that they were unfortunately unable to convert. They’ll look to regroup next week.

(HS BOYS) Chappaqua Falcons 1 - Edgemont 0

The Falcons beat Edgemont in a very physical game 1-0. The referee hardly made any calls and as a result the game got even more physical. One of the boys on Edgemont received a red card after the game ended and the hand shakes occurred as he cursed at the referee; not very smart.

(U11 Girls) Scarsdale Dynamo 1 - Chappaqua Rockets 0

This was a frustrating loss. The Rockets dominated this game in every aspect and hit the goal post three different times. Also, the Rockets had many good scoring chances that were just wide of the goal. Scarsdale was very lucky today to come away with a victory.

(U10 BOYS) - Rye Brook Lightning 3 - Chappaqua Wildcats 1

On a beautiful spring afternoon, the Rye Brook Lightning and Chappaqua Wildcats played a hard fought game with the Lightning scoring first and the Wildcats tying up the score at halftime. Midway thru the second half, Rye Brook scored a goal to take the lead for good. They added a goal on a penalty kick on what seemed a debatable call, but a good kick and goal nonetheless sealed the victory for Rye Brook. Next week the Wildcats travel to Harrison to play the Attack.

(U10 BOYS) Chappaqua Thunder 3 - Larchmont 1

Chappaqua Thunder won today 3-1. After being down 1-0 early in the first half they tied the score on a shot by Greg Ginsberg. Before the half, Justin Schachter scored the go ahead goal. The final goal was scored by Connor Groppa. This was the best team they have played so far.

(U11 GIRLS) Chappaqua Wildfire 4 - Yonkers Colts 2

The Wildfire played an awesome game and beat the Yonkers Colts 4-2. Jamie Roteman scored three goals and Leah Nankof one, as the Wildfire held Yonkers scoreless in the second half. Each of the girls contributed to the Wildfire win.

(U12 GIRLS) Chappaqua Tigers 2 - Gotham Girls 3

In a very well played and close battle between two of the better teams in Division 1 U12 Girls, Manhattan’s Gotham Girls snuck away with the victory last Sunday on Pier 40 in lower Manhattan. Played on a big turf field, both teams showed their skill and determination until the final whistle. The game was tied at the half 2-2 but Gotham Girls got a goal midway through the second half to secure the victory.
