Chappaqua Quake 3 – Larchmont 1

The Quake played another fantastic game last Sunday against Larchmont. As the sun finally peeked through the clouds and warmed up the field, the Quake got off to a quick start with a goal by Nicole DiGiacomo. The Quake clearly dominated in the first half but Larchmont came out strong in the second half with a quick goal.

With only one sub the Quake could have slowed down, but Nicole DiGiacomo, playing one of her best games this season, responded with another great goal off a pass from Hilary Lowitz. Midfielder Alexa Flamino kept the ball on the right side of the field almost the whole game. Defense was played strong by Morgan Todtfeld, Megan Graham and Danielle Boilen. Emily Kerstein played tough in goal the entire game. In the last few moments Danielle Boilen hit a beautiful shot into the goal from a penalty kick. Way to go Quake!

Chappaqua Wildcats 3 – Rye Brook Cosmos 0

Two goals from Ben Sackler, one unassisted, and one goal from Gavin Sabol went unanswered for the Wildcats first shutout. There was outstanding passing, midfield play and defense from Matthew Kaufman, Ben Skupski, Ben Polikoff, Henry Duckworth and Andrew Gaudet. Special mention to Kirill Omelich for outstanding midfield play, ball control and passing.

Chappaqua Liberty 7 – Rye Racers 1

The Liberty exploded today for seven goals to beat the Racers of Rye 7-1

on the turf at Rye High School. Under drizzly skies that became warm and

sunny, the Liberty women dominated at all points of the pitch. The

scoring was impressive and varied, with Kathleen Chen starting it off,

two by Lily Wolfensohn – one on a corner kick from Kathleen and one on

a finely angled shot – two from Audrey Seligman on nicely placed

shots, one from Juliana Posen – her first of the season – and one from

Julia Yaeger – her second of the year.

Additional fine play was provided by Alexandra Medway with some fine foot-work, Jessica Cohen, Taylor Hochstin, and Cara Goldfarb tending goal, and several fine goal

attempts by Jackie Seltzer. The Liberty are preparing for a re-match with rival Rye Brook that will determine the division leader. One more week for a season to remember for the Liberty!

Chappaqua United 1 – Mamaroneck 6

Chappaqua United lost to Mamaroneck on Sunday at Amsterdam Field by a score of 6-1. Although United had many excellent scoring chances during the first half, Mamaroneck scored the only two goals of the first half. Mamaroneck carried the play in the second half and scored three early goals to seal the victory. United kept playing hard and the hard work paid off when Paul Gadaletta found the back of the net on a well placed shot on a breakaway. United finishes their season with two games this week.
