The town hall assembly area was filled with current and former town leaders, police, fire and ambulance corps officers as well as town employees, family, friends and residents to honor Police Chief Robert Breen and wish him good luck in his next undertaking.

Chief Breen served New Castle for over thirty five years in its police department and is responsible for many of the emergency preparedness protocols currently in place. In the post-9/11 world, as chief law enforcement officer of the town, Breen sought to make the latest information and equipment available to ensure residents’ safety.
This desire to serve and protect his fellow citizens has led to his new role as Lieutenant Commander Robert Breen. Breen joined the navy militia after the events of September 11, 2001. In his new role, he is a full time active duty officer with the New York State Navy Militia, ensuring the safety of New York State’s waterways. Fortunately, he remains a resident of New Castle.
