The Greeley Chorus, the Madrigal Choir and the Women’s Ensemble will all be performing tonight in the Horace Greeley Auditorium in the annual Greeley Winter Concert starting at 7:30 p.m.
Under the direction of Maureen Callan and accompanied by David Baranowski, the Greeley Chorus will open the concert with Handel’s “Praise the Lord;” Mendelssohn’s “Behold a Star from Jacob Shining;” Durufle’s “Ubi Caritas” and Isaacson’s “Light the Legend.”
The Women’s Ensemble, also under the direction of Maureen Callan and accompanied by David Baranowski, will perform Delibes’ “Dome Epais” and “The Song of Purple Summer,” arranged by Brymer with soloists Debbie Sachare and Rebecca Karger.
Third on the program, the Madrigal Choir will perform Fromm’s “Mi Yimallel” (Hanukkah Madrigal), “Carol of the Bells” arranged by Wilhousky, Forbes’ “O Nata Lux” and “Greensleeves” arranged by Chilcott. Soloist Karl Engemann will perform Shaw’s arrangement of “Let It Snow” accompanied by David Baranowski.
The program will conclude with the whole Chorus returning to the stage to perform a medley of songs from “West Side Story” with soloists Lars Lee, Jason Unger, Jacob Sussman, Christine Haggerty, Vaishali Kumaraguru and Jasmine Canziani.
For the grand finale, Greeley graduates home from college will join the Chorus on stage in the “Hallelujah Chorus” by Handel. Traditional punch and cookies will be served at the conclusion of the concert.
