The big tent for graduation Sunday

Editor’s note: It’s that time of year, the final tally, the summing up of the experience, accompanied by parents’ pride and cohorts’ cheers. Despite the date that augurs ill, Friday, June 13 this year was a charmed day for the Horace Greeley High School community at its annual awards assembly. Parents secretly notified of their children’s accomplishments wait in the audience to share the joy and surprise on their children’s faces when their names are called by Greeley faculty and administrators. Friends whoop and holler in admiration.
NewCastleNOW.org invites the New Castle community to share in these students’ accomplishments. Here, in the five articles below, are the awards, the recipients, and some excerpts from the speeches given at the assembly. With so many awards, we will spread our coverage over the next several weeks.
