Letter to Robert O. Snyder, Superintendent of New Castle Parks and Recreation

April 30, 2010
by David B. Metz

Dear Bob:

I have come to the Zimmerman – Recreation Department issue just recently, but my research discovers the following:

  * Zimmerman’s deep knowledge and administrative experience with New Castle football is an asset that should not be trifled with.

  * Furthermore, his emotional dedication to this cause and the numerous family coaches he brings to the program is an asset of overwhelming value.

  * The personal connection of the Zimmerman system – family coaches of young football enthusiasts – cannot be equaled by bureaucratic town management or USA Football.

  * The politics of this issue is unfortunate.

Let the kids play in the fine system that exists.  It is not broken and does not need fixing.

Sincerely,

David B. Metz
