On behalf of the Chiefs, Officers and members of the Chappaqua Volunteer Fire Department, I wanted to take a moment to thank our friends and neighbors for their support. Our parade was a tremendous success and the response from everyone has been wonderful. But we would not have been able to do it without help from many, many people.
Our special thanks go to Jerry Faiella, Bob Snyder and Joe Gramando for helping us secure the use of the Bell parking lot for our bounce castles, to Rev. Dr. Joel Clark Mason and the parishioners of St. Mary the Virgin for allowing us to use their lawn for our “bullpen,” to Chief Charlie Ferry and the officers of New Castle Police Department and the members of C.E.R.T. for helping close off the streets and make sure all of the spectators and participants were safe, and to the Town of New Castle Highway Department and Recreation and Parks for all of their support with logistics and their repeated street sweepings.
I would especially like to thank Walter Quast, Dan Rubino and Chip Fowler for their tireless help in getting the flags up, stage assembled, generator and electrical expertise and the late nights and early mornings helping get us set up and ready to go.
Thank you all very much.
