On Thursday, February 6th at 7:00 p.m. the Greeley PTA is hosting a New Driver Orientation for students and parents in the Greeley Auditorium.  While this event is targeted primarily to students who have recently turned or will soon turn 16, we strongly encourage all new drivers to attend prior to applying for senior year parking privilege at Greeley.

Have you ever been tempted to check your phone while driving?  The evening’s keynote speaker is Mr. Ed Bergstraesser from AT&T’s “It Can Wait” Anti-Texting and Driving Campaign.  He will present a special screening of the powerful video “The Last Text”.  The anti-texting message is important for all young drivers, and their parents, to hear.

Other speakers include Officer Brian Bruno of the New Castle Police Department, Carolyn D’Agostino Greeley’s Student Assistance Counselor and will also bring Mr. Keith Keasby, the Former Greeley “Traffic Czar”, back to Greeley to discuss driving on the high school campus.

There will be raffle prizes, including one complimentary PAS Driver’s Ed course, and several VIP senior year parking privileges for both current sophomores and current juniors.

This annual event is sponsored by the Greeley PTA and is separate from the Feb 4th mandatory after school meeting for students who are registered for the spring semester PAS Driver’s Ed course.
