Letter to the Editor: Thanks to our firefighters

I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Chappaqua, Millwood, Mt. Kisco and Ossining volunteer firefighters who responded to our house fire on Easter Sunday. What started out as a beautiful spring day became a dayof “surprises” when our home caught fire as a result of an electrical short. After we called 911, within a few short minutes, dozens of firefighters were efficiently and expertly putting out the fire in our upstairs bedroom. Were it not for their quick response, our entire house would have burned down, I’m sure. They extinguished the fire in about 20 minutes.

We are so grateful to all of these dedicated and selfless volunteers who came to our rescue. We are now in a rental home not far from our house.
Thanks to these wonderful people, we will have a home to go back to in a few months.
