NEW: Senior trip to Yorktown Grange Fair!

Tuesday, September 7, 2010

Seniors of New Castle—not the high school variety—you’re invited to lunch with Mike Kaplowitz at the Yorktown Grange Fair at noon on Friday, September 10. New Castle’s Seniors’ Activities Group will run a bus from town hall at 11:00 a.m. to the fair for $3, round-trip. The lunch is on Mike!

The old-fashioned grange fair boasts horticultural displays, entertainment including a pig race, carnival booths, farm animals and exhibits.  Area farms including Stuart’s Century Farm of Granite Springs and Meadows Farm in Yorktown Heights will host booths and create displays with their locally grown vegetables and flowers, along with backyard gardeners participating in produce and flower competitions.

“It’s a lovely day each year, and the seniors get to meet seniors from other towns in our area,” said Arlene Reifer, president of New Castle’s Seniors’ Activities Group, “

Reserve your spot right away, seniors, by calling 238-8888. The Yorktown Grange Fair runs from Thursday, September 9 through Sunday, September 12.  See NCNOW’s Calendar for more details.
