Chappaqua Youth Soccer Club and Chappaqua AYSO announce the formation of the Chappaqua Untied Soccer Program (CUSP) for the 2010-2011 season.
The goals of CUSP are:
• To enable all players who want more competitive and challenging play to find a team
matched to their skills and level of commitment
• To provide advanced training and development opportunities to more players
• To more closely unite New Castle soccer programs in order to maximize the resources of
both programs and reduce competition between them
An advisory board named by the president of CYSC and the AYSO regional commissioner will drive CUSP. Its first initiative will commence with the 2010-2011 season with a pilot program at the 4th and 5th grade levels. Starting this fall, qualified players registered for U10 and U11 divisions for Fall
2010 will be allowed to play on both CYSC and AYSO travel teams.
• Teams from each CYSC division will play in Sunday games in the WYSL league. These teams
are formed based on ability as determined by the CYSC tryout process.
• AYSO EXTRA teams from each division will play in Saturday games in the AYSO Area league. These teams will be open enrollment and will have balanced rosters. Roster size may be limited by the number of teams that AYSO will allow in Area play.
• CYSC and AYSO will work together to coordinate the training of the AYSO Extra teams.
• Club and Extra teams will all wear uniforms in the Chappaqua colors of blue and white.
• CYSC players will have a choice to participate in AYSO Extra games with their friends on Saturdays. Players who choose to play on two teams will be expected to commit to an AYSO Extra team for the entire fall or spring season. The number of CYSC players allowed to play for two teams will be limited by roster size, with priority given to AYSO players.
• AYSO U10 and U11 Extra players will have a choice to play with their friends on AYSO core program teams. Players who choose to play on two teams will be expected to commit to an AYSO core team for the entire fall or spring season. During the Spring 2011 season, core team practices will be held immediately preceding Sunday games to minimize conflicts with other spring sports.
• AYSO Extra team rosters may be adjusted between the fall and spring seasons because of conflicting commitments to other sports in the spring.
