On Sunday, December 20, Temple Beth El and The Upper Westchester Muslim Society will present the Second Multi-Generational Jewish/Muslim Dialogue from 11:00 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. at The Upper Westchester Muslim Society, 401 Clairmont Avenue, Thornwood, New York.
This wonderful program is designed to bring together members of Temple Beth El and the Upper Westchester Muslim Society to share our common roots and recognize our common goals and visions for our families. By bringing our members together, we aim to recognize our common cause, promote religious diversity and teach our children the importance of building an interfaith partnership.
This program is for children, parents, adults, empty-nesters and members of all ages of Beth El. Adults from the Beth El congregation will participate in a Torah and Koran study with members of the Upper Westchester Muslim Society. Parents are invited to leave children (ages 8 and up) for games and discussions geared toward teaching about the values that we all share, sponsored by the Tikkun Olam Youth Corps. Women and young girls, please wear a scarf to cover your hair.
All participants will gather after the program to break bread and share traditional dishes in the social hall. Beth El members should bring one traditional Jewish dish (dairy, vegetarian or fish) to share.
