The following main roads in New Castle are closed due to the Winter storm:
NYS Route 128 at Taylor Road
NYS Route 120 at Marcourt Drive
NYS Route 120 at North Place
Hardscrabble Road at Tanglewild Road
Added at 11:08 a.m. Saturday: Hardscrabble Road is Closed Between Douglas Road and NYS Route 120. Will remain closed for next several hours as DPW crews clear its length
This is not a complete list of road closures. Many falling tree limbs are causing electric lines to come down across roads. Town DPW crews are out clearing roads. Some roads may not yet be accessable to DPW plows because of live electric wires blocking the roads. As Con Edison crews clear the live wires blocking roads, DPW is clearing the roads. A large segment of the Town of New Castle remains without electric power because of these conditions. New Castle Police requests your paitence during this Snow Emergency. Your Town agencies are working very hard to get roads and services restored to you as quickly as possible.
An Emergency Shelter has been opened at the New Castle Community Center located at 10 Senter Street in Chappaqua. If you cannot make it to the shelter the Town CERT team will come to pick you up if possible. Call the CERT Team at 238-8888 to make arrangements for transport to the Emergency Shelter. If you suspect that a neighbor may need assistance, call the Police at 238-4422 and the Police will check on your neighbor.
