Chappaqua Rovers 1 - Rye 2

Two penalty calls cost the Rovers the game. The first call was for a hand ball outside the penalty area which led to a direct kick that sailed over the Chappaqua keeper’s head. The second call was for a foul in the box with about 10 seconds left and a penalty kick was awarded to Rye. The second half was all Rovers as they grabbed back a goal and kept play in their zone for most of the 30 minutes. Despite all their efforts and numerous shots, they came up a little short. The boys played great in their first game of the season.

Chappaqua Quake 2 - Rye Leopards 2

In a close game, both teams played well and were evenly matched. All goals were scored on good kicks that beat the goalies. Goals were scored by Leslie Jabloner and Anna Lampe for Chappaqua.

Ossining Falcons 1 - Chappaqua Gunners 0

This evenly matched and well-played game had a score of 0-0 at half time. Ossining had some chances in the first half but couldn’t convert, while Chappaqua played a strong defense and had some very good goalkeeping. In the second half Chappaqua came out strong but couldn’t convert any of their chances. Ossining had some opportunities in the second half but they were stopped by Chappaqua’s defenders and goalkeeper. Ossining scored the game’s lone goal in the 62nd minute with a through ball that created a 1v1 situation. Chappaqua continued to work hard and attack and play strong defense but due to some good defense and goalkeeping by Ossining the game ended 1-0.

Chappaqua Stars 0 - Larchmont Spirit 4

The Stars lost even though they played very well. They had some nice passing combinations and worked hard. Unfortunately, they were missing two strong players, including their goalie, who were in the Bell Theatre Company play. Larchmont is also one of the stronger teams in the division.

Chappaqua Jaguars 2 - White Plains Strikers 1

Even though the score was close, Chappaqua dominated, both in terms of shots on goal and keeping the play in the White Plains side of the field. The Jaguars, who were down 1-0 at halftime, scored two goals in the first ten minutes of the second half. The first goal was a tap in by Sarah Zandi, assisted by Sammy Monk. Olivia Kerester scored the second goal from about 20 yards out off a nice cross by Lindsey Hill. The Jaguar defense was strong throughout the game.

Chappaqua Tigers 3 - Larchmont 2

Chappaqua Tigers (U12-G) rallied from 0-1down and 1-2 down to win their Westchester Youth Soccer League Division 1 opener 3-2 against Larchmont. Despite dominating much of the game, the Tigers struggled to get goals until late in the second half. Some nice passing helped open up the Larchmont defense and led to the winning goal with less then 10 minutes of play left.

Chappaqua Storm 2 – Gottschee Blue Devils 0

Chappaqua Storm (Girls U16) defeated BW Gottschee Blue Devils 2-0. Both teams worked hard during the first half where neither team dominated. The score at halftime was 0-0. Storm came out strong in the second half and dominated the play. Both goals were scored by Adrianna Huehnergarth.

Chappaqua Wildfire 0 - Edgemont 3

Both teams played well. In the first half, Edgemont capitalized on opportunities when they had them to score. Chappaqua was much more aggressive in the second half of this evenly matched game but was unable to score.

New Rochelle Arsenal 2 - Chappaqua Gladiators 0

The Gladiators put in a solid effort and outplayed New Rochelle for most of the game. There was great hustle all around, despite missing four strong players. The game featured a lot of good passing, great teamwork and very strong defensive play.

Pelham Devils 3 - Chappaqua Wildcats 0

On a cool and windy afternoon at the Spring Street Field in Pelham, the Chappaqua Wildcats and Pelham Devils opened up the spring campaign. The Devils kept the ball in the Wildcats’ zone for much of the first half but were leading at halftime by a score of only 1-0. Good defense and good goaltending kept the game tight. Pelham was strong and the more aggressive team on the ball, but with a break here or there, Chappaqua felt they could compete. The Wildcats had a few good chances to score but could not capitalize. Pelham scored two goals late in the second half to put the game away. Chappaqua moved up a level in play this season and will have to expect tougher competition.

New Rochelle 5 - Chappaqua Hornets 1

The Hornets played their first Division 1 game with five starters missing and only 11 players. The girls played hard, but fatigue combined with the strength of the New Rochelle team resulted in a loss.

Chappaqua Mustangs 2 - Rye Fireballs 1

This was an exciting and evenly matched game. At halftime the game was still scoreless. All of the goals were scored midway through the second half.
