Some things—lots of things—doing on the weekend. Saturday alone is filled with the Little League Parade, a town-wide cleanup, a pancake breakfast, a blood drive, an Earth Day celebration (up by the porte cochere) and more.

Earth Day at Bell School Saturday May 3, from 12 noon to 3 p.m.
Film series: All Talking! All Singing! All Dancing! Great Movie Musicals presents “Everyone Says I Love You,” a 1996 film, at 7:30 p.m. at the Chappaqua Library. The event is free and open to the public.
Benefit: The Chappaqua School Foundation is having its 14th Annual Gala Dinner at 6:30 p.m. at Crabtree’s Kittle House. The “It Takes A Village” award will honor Carol Evans, the founder and CEO of Working Mother Magazine. The Special Leadership award will honor Susan and Ed Habermann. The event will also include silent and live auctions, a car raffle, the Chappaqua School Foundation grant showcase and expanded cocktail and dining areas. New Castle Town Cleanup Day: New Castle residents and merchants will once again join together for New Castle’s 19th Annual Cleanup Day. Families, scouts, students and merchants are among the neighbors who will adopt a local road to clean. Residents should meet at town hall, located at 200 S. Greeley Ave. in Chappaqua, or the Country Deli, located at 74 Millwood Rd. in Millwood, from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. to register and pick up bags and gloves.
Benefit breakfast: The Chappaqua Rotary’s Annual Pancake Breakfast runs from 8:30 a.m. to noon at the Church of St. Mary the Virgin, located at 191 S. Greeley Ave., across from town hall. For more information on the breakfast, contact John Buckley at (914) 227-4201.
Parade: The Little League Parade begins at 8:30 a.m. from the New Castle Community Center.
Blood drive: The All Community Blood Drive will be at the Church of St. Mary the Virgin from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. There will be a free breakfast for those who sign-up to donate courtesy of Chappaqua Rotary. Donors will also receive a beverage of their choice from Quaker Hill Tavern for each pint of blood donated. Earth Day celebration. Bell Middle School will host an Earth Day Celebration at the Bell porte-cochere on Senter Street from noon until 3:00 p.m. Activities will include games, exhibits, demonstrations and earth-friendly foods. The celebration is sponsored by Horace Greeley High School clubs S.T.O.P, or Students and Teachers for our Planet, and Silent Earth in cooperation with the Chappaqua PTA Environmental Committee.
Book signing. Matthew Van Fleet, children’s book author and engineer, will sign copies of his books at Second Story Bookshop on South Greeley Avenue from 1:00 p.m. until 2:30 p.m.
Theatre Comedy: The Horace Greeley High School Theatre Company performs Neil Simon’s “The Odd Couple” at 8:00 p.m. in the Greeley Auditorium.
Musical concert: The Westchester Philharmonic will perform Hovhanness’ Mysterious Mountain (Symphony No. 2) and Mahler’s Das Lied von der Erde for eighty musicians and two voices at 8:00 p.m. For more information visit http://www.westchesterphil.org/0708season.asp.

The Garden Conservancy’s “Open Days Program:” Three stunning gardens, small to vast, two of them in New Castle. The gardens of Shobha Vanchiswar (our garden columnist) and Henriette Suhr (“Rocky Hills”) are open to the public from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and 12 noon to 4:00 p.m., respectively. Judy and Michael Steinhardt’s garden in nearby Bedford is extraordinary. A portion (or all) of the $5 fee for admission will go to support the Conservancy’s preservation efforts at Rocky Hill. Movie: Read the book and see the movie. “The Dark is Rising” is for grades 6 – 8. The group will meet at the Chappaqua Library from 12:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. Bring your lunch and the library will provide dessert and drinks. There will be a free raffle for all participants for a complete set of “The Dark is Rising” books! Please register as space is limited. The event will be held at the Chappaqua Library.

Concert: The Bell Band concert is at 7:30 p.m. in the Seven Bridges Auditorium.

Lecture: Dr. Alan Jacobs of the Westchester Mind and Memory Center will talk about evolving concepts in healthy brain aging. The lecture, “Healthy Brain Aging,” will be at 10:00 a.m. at the Chappaqua Library.
