Garden Club Plant Sale just in time for Mother’s Day, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the train station.
Friday, May 9
Lecture: “Walking on Eggshells: Navigating the Delicate Relationship Between Adult Children and Their Parents” will be given at 7:30 p.m. at the Chappaqua Library. This national bestseller, by former editor-in-chief at Harcourt Trade Books, Jane Isay, has become a bible for mastering the problematic and wonderful stages of parenting. The book was featured on “The Today Show” and “The Early Show,” as well as in “USA Today” and the “New York Times.” The lecture is free and open to the public.

Plant sale: The Annual Chappaqua Garden Club Spring Plant Sale will be from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Chappaqua Train Station. They will be selling perennials, hanging baskets, geraniums, annuals, herbs and teacup bouquets again this year. There will also be the ever-favorite children’s table. It’s just in time for Mother’s Day!
Nature walk: The nature walk, “Graff Sanctuary, Through the Seasons” will be at 9:00 a.m., rain or shine. Join the Saw Mill River Audubon for their continuing series of second Saturday walks! Meet at the Furnace Dock Road entrance to Graff Sanctuary in Croton-on-Hudson. Concert: The Bell Chorus Concert at 7:30 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center at Seven Bridges Middle School.
Book discussion: Young Critics at the Library, an ongoing book discussion group for kids in grades 4 – 6, will meet at 7:00 p.m. at the Chappaqua Library. This month’s selection is “Summer of Riley” by Bunting. Critics meet monthly for great books, good conversation and delightful snacks. Please register in person at the Children’s Room desk. Our motto is “Everyone’s entitled to MY opinion!”
Government meeting: The PPS Downtown Steering Committee will meet in the assembly room of town hall, starting at 7:30 p.m. The first 20 minutes are open to the public.
Tuesday, May 13
Evening with authors: Join the Second Shift and the Second Story Book Store for an evening with authors Victoria Zackheim and Masha Hamilton. The event will focus on “infidelity meets self image.” It will be at An American Place Bistro in Tuckahoe. The cost is $60 for members and $70 for guests. Book discussion group: The group will discuss “The Love of Wife,” by Gish Jen, at 7:30 p.m. Sponsored by the Friends of the Chappaqua Library, the group is led by Christine Bobkoff, an adjunct professor of English at Westchester Community College. This program is free and no registration is required.
Government meeting: The Chappaqua Board of Education will meet at 8:15 p.m. at the Seven Bridges Middle School Lower Commons.

Morning Nature Walk: The early morning bird walk at Rockefeller State Park Preserve, Tarrytown will be at 7:30 a.m. Meet in the main parking area and bring binoculars. A parking fee may be charged. The leader is Richard Nelson. For more information, visit http://www.sawmillriveraudubon.org.
Concert: The Seven Bridges Chorus Concert will be at 7:30 p.m. in the Seven Bridges Theatre.
Thursday, May 15
Luncheon: New Castle’s Senior Activity Group Spring Luncheon will be from 12:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. at the Traveler’s Rest in Ossining. Lunch is $35.00 per person. Checks should be made payable to the Senior Activity Croup of New Castle and mailed or dropped off at the New Castle’s recreation department.
Candidates’ Night. The New Castle League of Women Voters will present a “Meet the Candidates Night” at 7:30 p.m. at the Chappaqua Library for community members to meet the three candidates running for the two seats available on the school board and the two candidates running for the one seat available on the library board.
