Theater SpringFest at Greeley: Monday, June 9 through Thursday, June 12

June 6, 2008
by Chris Schraufnagel, drama teacher at Horace Greeley High School

SpringFest is a week-long theatre festival that is completely written, directed, acted and teched by the students at Greeley. It is a collaboration between my Stagecraft and Playwriting and Directing classes. As part of a semester-long project, the Playwriting and Directing students spend the first half of the semester writing or finding a one-act play, and the second half of the semester casting, blocking, directing and teching their shows.  The stagecraft students are then responsible for technically helping the directors turn their ideas into reality. This all culminates in the week of shows, starting every evening at 7:00 p.m. June 9 – 12.
