High School Winners added!

In January, the word goes out from the Friends of the Chappaqua Library that Young Writers’ Contest applications are available to middle and high school students. This is a contest that pays serious attention to the power of the pen, the ability of writing to amuse, to persuade, to communicate or to touch readers’ hearts, whether through fiction, non-fiction or poetry.

Judges for the contest are writers who live in the community and student submissions are judged blind. Both our judges and the Friends were thrilled with this year’s bumper crop of submissions.
This morning, Friday, June 13, the high school winners will be announced in a school-wide assembly. Come back to our site at mid-day and we will have updated today’s issue to include those winners’ names. This summer we will publish all of the winning stories, essays and poems from the contest.
