Proposed 2010-11 school budget to be revealed at Tuesday, Feb. 23 board of education meeting

At the Tuesday, February 23, Board of Education meeting in the Academic Commons at Horace Greeley High School, Superintendent David Fleischman will reveal the administration’s proposed budget for the 2010-11 school year. At that meeting, the Board of Education will begin its review of the administration’s proposal.
The board will continue its review and discussion of the proposal at the Board of Education meetings scheduled for Tuesday March 2, March 16, March 23, and April 13.
The board expects to adopt a budget on April 20, conduct a final budget hearing on May 4, and put the budget before the voters on May 18.
According to the emalert sent on Thursday, February 11 from the district to community members registered for the emalert service, “The community is invited to participate in the review of the proposed budget by attending these meetings or watching replays on NCCTV. You may share your thoughts and questions about the budget during the question and comment portion of the public meetings or by emailing to .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address). Detailed budget information will be mailed to all school district households before the May 18 vote.”
