May 2, 2008

This Sunday, May 4, The Garden Conservancy’s “Open Days Program” allows visitors into three fabulous gardens, intimate to vast, two of them in New Castle.

Blue sea of forget-me-nots at Rocky Hills
The gardens of Shobha Vanchiswar, our garden columnist, and Henriette Suhr’s “Rocky Hills” are open to the public from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and 12 noon to 4:00 p.m., respectively.  Judy and Michael Steinhardt’s grounds in nearby Bedford are open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.  A portion (or all) of the $5 fee for admission will go to support the Conservancy’s preservation efforts at Rocky Hill.  For more information, go to opendaysprogram.org, or call the Conservancy at 1-888-842-2442.

Find Shobha Vanchiswar’s garden at 76 Castle Road in Chappaqua, Henriette’s at 95 Old Roaring Brook Road, and the Steinhardt’s on 433 Croton Lake Road, Mt. Kisco.
