Rec Department offering skateboarding lessons on Saturdays this summer

The New Castle Recreation and Parks Department is offering six sessions of skateboarding lessons on Saturday mornings this summer, starting this Saturday, July 10 and running through August 14. The classes are limited to 10 students each; the fee is $100 for residents of New Castle, $120 for non-residents. Register in person at the Rec Department in town hall.
Beginners’ Skateboarding Class: 10:00 – 10:50 a.m.
Come enjoy the New Castle skate park (at the Pleasantville end of the Chappaqua train station parking lot) featuring rails, pyramids, quarter pipes, bank ramps and ledges. Learn the proper way to skate and use this great equipment. This class is designed for children who are interested in learning the fundamentals of skate boarding. Techniques such as pushing, turning, and ollieing will be introduced.
Helmet, kneepads and elbow pads must be worn. You must supply your own skateboard.
Advanced Beginner Skateboarding Class: 11:00 – 11:50 a.m.
This class is designed for skaters who would like to fine-tune their skills on the state-of- the-art ramps and rails. Techniques such as kick flips and grinds will be taught. You will also have the opportunity to ask the instructors to help you learn any other trick you want to try.
Helmet, kneepads and elbow pads must be worn. You must supply your own skateboard.

Saturdays and Sundays: 11:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
Wednesdays – Fridays: 3:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.
Daily Admission: $5.00 (residents)
$7.00 (non-residents)
Season Pass: $75.00 (residents)
$95.00 (non-residents)
Ages 5 and up; 10 years and younger must be accompanied by an adult
