There is still time to submit an application to run for the school board. No campaigning has yet begun. For your convenience, NewCastleNOW.org has created a pdf file of the petition. You many download it here.NominatingPetition.pdf
To get on the ballot to run for the school board, an applicant must obtain 25 signatures on the petition. Anyone can run for the school board who satisfies the following minimal criteria: over 18 years of age; a qualified voter in the state; a continuous resident for one year; and able to read and write.
The deadline for submission of your petition is this coming Monday, April 21 at 5:00 p.m. Completed petitions should be brought to the Education Center at 66 Roaring Brook Road and given to District Clerk Theresa Markley, who is a Notary Public.
