Sotheby’s International Realty will hold a community seminar on “How to sell your home in today’s challenging and changing market” this Sunday, March 1 from 12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. at their office at 39 King Street, Chappaqua, NY. Panelists, including an architect, legal advisor, environment expert and real estate expert, will speak about pressing home sale issues for the benefit of all area residents.
Bill Spade, a local architect from Chappaqua, will discuss how to take corrective measures when a certificate of occupancy is missing or incomplete. Jody Fay, former president of the Westchester County Women’s Bar Association, will speak about title issues and how to get to the closing table. Jim Rood, owner of Lighthouse Environmental, will speak about hot environmental topics, including underground oil tanks and mold. Joanna Rizoulis, Chappaqua brokerage manager for Sotheby’s International Realty, will speak about marketing strategies.
When asked why now, Ms. Rizoulis stated, “Our sellers encounter similar issues every year. In a more challenging market it becomes even more important that homes be ready to close without any surprises.” Sotheby’s offered community seminars two years ago for which they received positive feedback. “Our hope is that people will stop by for some practical information on selling their home, and grab a bagel and coffee to boot!” said Rizoulis.
