South Greeley parking lot summer makeover begins Monday

Construction on the South Greeley parking lot between the Bell field and the shops along South Greeley begins today, Monday, June 13.  According to the town’s Director of Planning David Brito, around 70 of the 156 potential parking spaces will remain available at any given time, though they may be a different set of 70 throughout the summer.

During this period, the town will encourage the merchants themselves (the roughly 65 of them with merchant parking permits) to park instead in the train parking lot wherever resident permit parking is allowed.  There are around 1,000 resident permit parking spaces in the train station lot; usage of the lot in summer is usually lighter than during the school year.

The two pedestrian passages through the line of shops – one at the new eatery “Local,” the other by the frame shop – will remain open throughout reconstruction, which is due to finish at the end of August.
