American Ballet Master talk, Second Annual Memoir Gathering and reading, Town and County taxes due, Students for a Sustainable Future Expo ‘08, Neil Simon’s The Odd Couple Thursday May 1 and Saturday May 3 at Horace Greeley HS.

Friday, April 25

Lecture: Edith Glass will discuss “Jerome Robbins: 20th Century American Ballet Master” in a lecture and video presentation at 3:00 p.m. at the Chappaqua Library. She will discuss the life and work of this great choreographer who brought the American spirit to dance and whose influence continues to be felt on Broadway, in the movies and by numerous ballet companies. The event is free and open to the public.

Saturday, April 26

Second Annual Memoir Gathering on Saturday, April 26, 2008. The program will begin promptly at 4 p.m. in the Chappaqua Library auditorium. Refreshments will be served after the program.

Tuesday, April 29

Author Talk: Editor and designer of TRAVEL ITALIA: The Golden Age of Italian Travel Posters, Lorenzo Ottaviano, is the recipient of design awards from Print Magazine, Zander and others.  Organized by regions and featuring vintage travel posters from 1920 – 1960, his book was commissioned by the Italian State Tourism Board and the Italian State Railways. Chappaqua Library Theatre, 7:30 p.m.

Wednesday, April 30

Friendly Reminder:  Town and County Taxes Due
Offices closed: The Town of New Castle court offices will be closed.  Judges and staff will attend a mandatory training session.

Students for a Sustainable Future Expo ‘08: The Children’s Literacy Foundation (CELF) presents Expo ‘08 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Goldstein Fitness Center at Pace University in Pleasantville. Visit over 50 hands-on, highly interactive and engaging science, cultural and design exhibits on sustainable products, principles and practices. Open to the public from 2:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. with a special presentation for elementary school aged children from 4:15 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. For information, visit http://www.celfoundation.org/expo08/index.html.

Theatre Comedy:  Horace Greeley High School Theatre Company performs Neil Simon’s The Odd Couple at 7:30 p.m. at the HGHS auditorium. Tickets are $10. Email to reserve. (On Saturday, May 3, performance is at 8:00 p.m.)
