Animation at the library Friday; HGHS graduation Sunday, speaker from Stone Barns at Monday Rotary lunch, Tuesday’s town board meeting begins with Joan Dupont, regional director of the DOT speaking about the 120 bridge replacement, 8th grade moving up ceremony Wednesday at Bell and Seven Bridges, Thursday talk at library about the “Old Putnam” railroad. Friday, June 20
Film: “Animation Adventure” - Join us for popcorn and a screening of short animated films. Registration is preferred as space is limited. This event will be held at 4:15 p.m., for grades 2 – 5, in the Chappaqua Library.
Film: “Menus in the Movies,” will feature an award-winning independent film, “King Corn.” The discussion will be led by Carol Durst, food author and film buff. Homemade desserts will follow. This free event is open to the public and is sponsored by the Friends of the Chappaqua Library at 7:00 p.m. in the library.
Sunday, June 22
Graduation: The Horace Greeley High School Graduation is at 5:00 p.m. on the fields under the big tent.
Monday, June 23
Luncheon and speaker: The Chappaqua Rotary will meet at 12:15 p.m. at the Crabtree Kittle House in Chappaqua for lunch. The speaker will be a farmer from Stone Barns from the Rockefeller Preserve who is also the director in charge of sustainable farming. Tuesday, June 24
Government meeting: To begin the town board meeting, Joan Dupont, Regional Director of the Department of Transportation, will discuss the reconstruction of the Route 120 Bridge on Tuesday, June 24, at 7:45 p.m. in town hall assembly room. The town board’s regular meeting follows.
Wednesday, June 25
Eighth grade moving up ceremony: The eighth grade moving up ceremonies will be at both Seven Bridges and Bell Middle Schools at 12:00 p.m.
Government meeting: There will be a zoning board meeting at 7:15 p.m. at town hall.
Government meeting: There will be a solid waste advisory board meeting at 7:30 p.m. at town hall.
Thursday, June 26
School: Last day of school. Elementary schools have a half day. For middle schools, only teachers should report.
Author and media presentation: “The Old Put: Gone, But Not Forgotten.” Local author Joe Schiavone will host a multi-media presentation on the Putnam Division Railroad, which is now the North County Bike Trail. This free event will be held at the Chappaqua Library at 7:30 p.m.
