St. John and St. Mary Welcomes a New Pastor

By Ann Marie Fallon
On Sunday, September 30, the parish of Saint John and Saint Mary Roman Catholic Church held a Celebration of the Eucharist to welcome their new pastor, Monsignor Thomas E. Gilleece.

Bishop Robert A. Brucato, the Vicar General of the New York Archdiocese presided at the 10:30 a.m. Mass, which was concelebrated by Monsignor Patrick Barry and Father Mark Connell with Deacon Louis Santore assisting.

Monsignor Gilleece served the last six years as the Chancellor for the New York Archdiocese before his assignment to St. John and St. Mary. He fills the position vacated by the death of Monsignor Charles Kelly.

On Thursday, October 11 at 7:30 p.m., the parish will offer a Memorial Mass to mark the first anniversary of Monsignor Kelly’s death.  The Mass will be held in the Little Church.
