CONCERT OFFICIALLY MOVED INDOORS TO COMMUNITY CENTER ON SENTER ST. 7 PM

Aux armes, citoyens de Chappaqua!  Allez vite to the Gazebo on Wednesday, July 14 at 7:00 p.m. for a celebration of la musique de la belle France.  “I will cook you a musical soufflé of the greatest French masters from Bizet to Ravel, and we’ll celebrate Bastille Day with the stirring melodies of Les Miz!” promises Michael Shapiro, musical director and conductor of The Chappaqua Orchestra, which will open the New Castle-sponsored summer concert series at the Gazebo (on the recreation field). In the event of rain, the concert will be held in the New Castle Community Center. The concert is free, no Euros or centimes accepted.

The orchestra will perform the following selections:

La Marseillaise (traditional)
Underworld Overture for a Marionette by Jacques Offenbach
Bacchanale from Samson and Delila by Saint-Saens
Pavane by Gabriel Faure
Pavane for a Dead Princess by Maurice Ravel
Carmen Suite by George Bizet
Les Miserables Selections by Schonberg/Boubil

So to the barricades, citizens (or at the least, to the Gazebo!)
