Walkathon and Pet Fair Saturday, May 1 at FDR Park

April 30, 2010

The Wags and Whiskers Walkathon and Pet Fair, the big fun-raising fundraiser of the year for the SPCA of Westchester, takes place in FDR State Park in Yorktown Heights tomorrow, Saturday, May 1 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.  The SPCA is a no-kill shelter, located on North State Road in Briarcliff Manor.  Registration for the walkathon is not required, but it’s appreciated, and there’s still time to sign up and even gather pledges.  Click HERE for details.

The program

First, you’ll high-tail it with your best buddy on a two-mile walk. Then enjoy live music by 100.7 WHUD, fabulous food and refreshments, games and crafts for the kids and shopping in the Wags & Whiskers Waskathon vendor village.  In recognition of the many shelter cats who are waiting for new homes, supporters can walk with an adoptable cat vest!

The top fundaiser of the day will win an exciting one-week vacation, lake front, on Indian Lake in the Adirondacks—with use of a boat included.  Other top prizes include one year of free grooming by PAWfection—and more.

The SPCA can double your donation if your employer has a matching gift program.
