Apr 29

The Sustainable Future—Adam Zellner, president of Greener by Design, New Brunswick, N.J.; Thursday, April 29, 7 p.m. - Rye Rye Free Reading Room, 1061 Boston Post Road, Rye. For directions, click HERE.

From the Westchester Land Trust press release:

“In today’s changing world of sustainability, energy and federal stimulus it is imperative that governments, not for profits and individuals stay on the cutting edge.  Federal and state policies such as the Renewable Portfolio Standard, the Carbon Auction and LEED/Green Building practices are all changing the way we live, work and do business in our neighborhoods.  What does the future hold? How does it affect you? What kind of resources are out there to help us go green?

This talk will focus on what is happening today in and around the region, what states and local governments are doing and what the future holds at the federal level for green and sustainability.

The talk is open to the public and there is a suggested donation of $15, the proceeds of which will go toward Westchester Land Trust’s open space preservation work. The fifth and final talk in a series sponsored by the Westchester Land Trust, “Food, Land, Sustainability: Five cutting edge lectures about the environment, the way we live today, and the way we’ll need to live in the future.”
