Westchester, NY—The Westchester Jazz Orchestra, a world-class ensemble made up of 17 jazz greats, was propelled to national recognition earlier this year when its debut CD became one of the most frequently played jazz CDs in the nation. On Tuesday, July 22 at 7:30 PM, WJO will perform its first concert outside of Westchester – a free concert in Nyack’s Memorial Park. The performance will be part of the week-long Nyack jazz festival and the program will feature arrangements commissioned by WJO and written by Nyack residents, including WJO’s Artistic Director Mike Holober.
Led by Artistic Director Mike Holober, WJO musicians include trumpeters Craig Johnson, Tony Kadleck, Jim Rotondi and Marvin Stamm; saxophonists Jay Brandford, David Brandom, Ralph Lalama, Jason Rigby and Ed Xiques; trombonists Bruce Eidem, Larry Farrell, George Flynn, and Keith O’Quinn; pianist Ted Rosenthal; bassist Harvie S and drummer Andy Watson.
