The “Senior Parent/Student Transition Workshop,” scheduled for Monday, May 21, at 7:00 p.m. in Room K110, seems to remain one of the best-kept secrets in town. It tends to get lost in the hubbub of all the year-end activities, but the fact is that it’s a fantastic experience you and your senior shouldn’t miss.  I had to drag each of my three kids to it, and each time it was more than well worth it. It was great, my kids and I agree.

About 150 runners set out at 8:10 a.m. yesterday into a brilliant green and blue day, and on a race course famous for its ups and downs.  The first male runner, Matthew Kiplagat, returned at 32:45, Henry Koster at 34:51 and Glen Carnes at 38:26.  The first female runner, Daphne Tsoucas, came in at 45:18, Benedicte Uguen at 47:07 and Susan Snyder at 47:08.  See complete results in “Read more….”

Last Saturday the Chappaqua Fire Department held its annual inspection.  Back in the 1800s, when fire companies were few and far between, they relied on each other for mutual aid, sharing equipment and manpower.  Often fires took more than one company to handle.  To receive mutual aid, fire companies had to be able to provide mutual aid, and it became the custom to check out, through official visits, what the other companies had.

Former Flying Pig may get back on track at the Chappaqua Train Station

The chef and pastry chef of the former Flying Pig visited a town board work session last Tuesday to present their proposal for a 60-seat restaurant in the historic 1902 Chappaqua Train Station building owned by the town.  Their plan would have Sutter’s Track 32, a “moderately-priced, family-affordable” restaurant open by summer – this summer.
